Meliora aims to relieve the ongoing discomfort and strain caused by hair loss by providing a free wig and head accessories for young adults (18-30) undergoing cancer treatment in Colorado and encourage positivity and acceptance around the topic of hair loss.

Hair loss is undeniably one of the most distressing side effects of cancer treatment. It is difficult to understand how defining a person’s hair is to them until it is lost. Even when hair grows back, it serves as a constant reminder of one's illness. A healthy relationship with one's hair and appearance during and post-treatment is fundamental to overall mental health. Unfortunately, society places a lot of value on appearance, especially among young adults. Changes in hair texture, color, and length after treatment can be highly frustrating. Not meeting cultural and societal expectations because of hair loss can cause further unnecessary damage. Meliora aims to address these worries through our free wig program. Additionally, we provide resources on choosing, wearing, and taking proper care of a wig in one place.
