Choosing a Wig
TYPE OF WIG
To simplify the wig selection process for those who have lost hair, specifically due to cancer treatment, we specifically recommend a synthetic wig to start with. For first-time wig users, these wigs are extremely beginner friendly because they come pre-styled and are ready to wear, requiring no wig glue. They are simple to care for compared to their human hair counterparts, which makes it easier when you are not feeling well and do not have as much energy to expend. Modern synthetic wigs look incredibly realistic, with natural color, texture, and hair density. If you feel your wig does not look real enough, there are many simple tips and tutorials (linked here) to make a wig look more genuine.
Synthetic wigs are also much more affordable, usually in the $50-$300 price range, compared to human hair wigs, which often retail for several thousand dollars. With this affordability comes an opportunity to try multiple wig styles and colors. Though synthetic wigs (which usually last 4 to 6 months) do not have the same longevity as human hair wigs )which can last for 1 - 3 years) financially synthetic wigs are easier to replace. For most cancer patients, treatment and hair loss will only last for several months, making the human hair wig a poor investment. Therefore synthetic wigs are better suited to this time frame.
This is all to say that you are free to buy any wig of your liking, but know that it is easy to fall victim to wig stores that profit off the vulnerability of hair loss by presenting human hair wigs as the “only” option for a natural look. However, this is not true, so we only actively recommend and provide high-quality synthetic wigs for cancer treatment-related hair loss.
STYLE OF WIG

Remember that this is just a recommendation and that choosing a wig that genuinely feels like you is most important. If you cannot find a wig you love entirely, it is possible to take your wig to a local brick-and-mortar wig business or a hair salon for a haircut to further style the wig to your preferences.
